INNOVO MOBILE HEALTHCARE:   The Pillars Of Access To Healthcare

Health is regarded by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a fundamental human right and health promotion is defined as “the process of enabling people to increase control over their health and its determinants, and thereby improve their health”.

Access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing diseases, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death as well as achieving health equity for all South Africans.

Access to healthcare is underpinned by the following five A-pillars:

Access to healthcare is also about advocacy for healthy public policies, empowerment of local communities on health promotion approaches, the creation of an enabling environment that promotes healthy behaviour, strengthening human resources capacity for the delivery of health promotion services, and strengthening systems to monitor and evaluate health in all communities.

Availability

Healthcare services and products are available in the healthcare system for various communities, esp remote and rural communities.

Often the poorest tend to reside furthest from the nearest clinics and due to high travel costs, these community members are not able to afford transport to quality healthcare facilities. This forces them to make use of the nearest facilities, which do not always have comprehensive services. Innovo Mobile Healthcare avails quality healthcare services and products to communities in urban, peri-urban and rural areas, ensuring that even those living far away from city centres have access to quality treatment.

Affordability

Healthcare does not contribute to the financial hardships of patients.

Innovo Mobile Healthcare is dedicated to providing healthcare and ensuring that no person is denied access to these services due to financial constraints. Through various partnerships, Innovo Mobile Healthcare is able to deliver preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative interventions to patients across South Africa and at times free of charge.

Accessibility

No barriers stopping patients from accessing healthcare

Our ability to deliver services to those in need, whether in a bustling city centre or serene rural areas, ensures all communities have fair and equal access to healthcare systems.

Adequacy

Quality healthcare and involvement of patients in shared decision making with healthcare professionals.

Healthcare should be responsive and financially fair. It should endeavour to treat all patients with dignity, create trust and promote demand for health.  Innovo Mobile Healthcare’s 18 combined years of experience has steadfastly provided healthcare guidance and direction to all the communities it serves.

Appropriateness

Healthcare meets the needs of different population groups.

DUE TO PATIENTS EXPECTING HEALTH INTERVENTIONS TO BE APPROPRIATELY TARGETED AND DELIVERED WITH TECHNICAL COMPETENCE, APPROPRIATE CARE MUST BE EFFECTIVE (BASED ON VALID EVIDENCE), EFFICIENT (COST-EFFECTIVENESS), AND CONSISTENT WITH THE ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PREFERENCES OF THE RELEVANT INDIVIDUAL, COMMUNITY OR SOCIETY. INNOVO’S MOBILE CLINICS’ MEDICAL PERSONNEL ARE WELL TRAINED IN EXECUTING APPROPRIATE BEDSIDE MANNER AND UNDERSTANDING THE DELICACY REQUIRED TO HANDLE THE CULTURAL MELTING POT THAT IS SOUTH AFRICA.
